Privacy Policy
Overview
The owners and management of Ocean Trailer are committed to the spirit and letter of the federal and provincial
privacy protection legislation that was fully implemented on January 1, 2004. What follows are the Ocean
Trailer policies in the ten areas identified as essential in respecting privacy.
1. Accountability
Ocean Trailer has appointed a Privacy Officer to ensure that privacy policies are followed through the training
and empowerment given to personnel who need to gather, store and process private information. The Privacy
Officer will also ensure that third parties required to work with any of Ocean Trailer's information are
in compliance with privacy legislation.
2. Purpose
The purpose of obtaining information will be given beforehand.
3. Consent
Consent will be obtained before any information is gathered, used or disclosed. The circumstances will dictate
whether the form of the consent should be written, verbal or implied.
4. Relevance
Only the information necessary for the purpose stated and as consented to will be collected.
5. Application
Information will only be used and disclosed for the purpose it was collected for.
6. Accuracy
Information will be kept as accurate and current as possible.
7. Security
Information will be securely stored, physically or electronically, to prevent unauthorized access and use.
8. Openness
Interested parties are welcome to contact the Privacy Officer on any privacy matters.
9. Access
The one that information is about may, through the Privacy Officer, see their information and have it corrected,
or at least have the essence of disputes about the information included with the information.
10.Compliance
A timely response will be given to any questions, concerns and complaints about the privacy and appropriateness
of information in the custody of Ocean Trailer, and about the policies and procedures put in place to ensure
that same privacy and appropriateness.
